Marriage Accountability Agreement
Introduction
We, the undersigned, believe that a true marriage is a binding commitment based on mutual accountability, love, and respect. We stand in firm opposition to the unilateral no-fault divorce laws which deprive citizens of their right to create legitimate and binding marital agreements that honor fidelity, mutual commitment, and family integrity. We find it unjust and unconscionable that courts and legislators deny the rights of faithful partners and their children, stripping them of their homes, assets, and emotional security by supporting the whims of the unfaithful or abusive partner.
We declare our commitment to uphold the values of loyalty, fidelity, and integrity in our marriage. We do not assent to, nor do we respect, any law, court, or legislator that enforces laws allowing one party to dissolve a marriage unilaterally and without just cause. We pledge allegiance to the principles enshrined in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, but we do not accept laws or systems that contradict these values.
1. Accountability and Responsibility
We each vow to take full accountability for our actions within this marriage. Should this marriage face challenges, I (signing spouse) vow that if it ends, I will not be the one to break it.
If either of us chooses to act in a way that necessitates divorce due to unfaithfulness, abuse, or other grievous wrongdoings, we agree that the responsible party shall bear the full financial and emotional responsibility for those actions, freeing the innocent party from bearing the cost of this breach.
2. Commitment to the Family’s Well-being
We declare that our family, home, and assets are a shared commitment that we are duty-bound to protect. We commit to provide a stable, loving environment, free from threats of dissolution except in cases where it is absolutely necessary and unavoidable for safety and wellbeing.
Our commitment is to work through difficulties rather than abandon our responsibilities. We make this promise not only to each other but to any children we may have and to the integrity of our family legacy.
3. Declaration of Independence from Unjust Divorce Laws
We affirm that we do not recognize unilateral no-fault divorce as a legitimate standard for ending a marriage. It is our conviction that such laws are not reflective of our nation’s founding principles of justice and accountability. We see these laws as a betrayal of our constitutional rights to build and protect our families.
We do not recognize the legitimacy of any government, court, or legislator that supports unilateral no-fault divorce, as we find these systems unworthy of honor or respect. We declare our allegiance to a nation that truly represents ethical, constitutional values and denounce any law, practice, or judge that fails to uphold these standards in marriage and family law.
4. Declaration of Accountability Before God and Society
This agreement is not only a promise to each other but a vow before God and society. Should either party act in violation of this agreement, we recognize that such actions are contemptible in the eyes of those who uphold these values. We are more concerned with divine judgment than any contempt of court for condemning unethical laws. We believe that heaven is reserved for those who value ethics, love, sincerity, and faithfulness, and we vow to live by these principles.
