I owe a great debt of gratitude to many people for their advice and help.
Eileen, My Wife
Eileen has played a major role in my own emotionaly healing and has endured courageously, lovingly, faithfully, patiently, and with great wisdom and encouragement and has provided much insight and support. She also has a blog of her own at DOTA - Daughters of the Almighty.
My Parents, Jim and Helen Dick
My mother went to be with the Lord in May 2014, and we all miss her dearly. She was the comfort and strength of my life during the first part of my life and both of my parents provided support and strength during the trouble of my first marriage as my ex suffered from bipolar disorder and put our family through the hardships of divorce. They put up with my emotional struggles and endless ranting and provided comfort and encouragement and prayers to help me get through those hard years.
My Brother, David
My brother suffered a collapse at age 22 from congestive heart failure and continued to live 17 years though his wife’s father pressured her to divorce him to get out from her responsibility to care for a handicapped husband, and my parents took on caring for David during those years until he passed on in 2008.
Although David lost his short term memory and his voice and was unstable walking, he maintained a great sense of humor and positive attitude and was a great comfort to many people including me. He was the best brother I could have hoped to have.
My Best Friends and Other Famnily
This is difficult declaring who my “best” friends are or were as I desperately do not want to forget some and end up slapping them in the face figuratively speaking when so many people have been so good to me and to all of our family.
I’ve considered Pastor Paulus Kristanto and Michael Quintana to be probably my two best friends today. And they have both been a great support to me in this journey. Pastor Paulus of Indonesian Full Gospel Fellowship, then later Fresno City Blessing Church was the one who officiated both of my weddings, though we had another pastor Williamson for my first marriage. Paulus and his wife Aling are very much like family to me, though I have not seen them in a very long time due to the Covid-19 situation in the world today and our need to care for my elderly father. And many of my very best friends are pastors of IFGF and CB churches around the world. Friends who made a huge impact on me spiritually.
Michael Quintana and I were in Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship until the organization split over disagreements in leadership and we became part of Businessmen’s Fellowship International before getting involved in The Last Reformation.
I lost a very dear friend, my prayer partner in church and the husband of our wedding coordinator, Denny Wong in 2011, and his wife, Felecia, is also one of our dearest friends. They were our home cell leaders at church. I could not thank them enough for their example of love and the joy we shared with the ministry and music together.
